FDLM gives widows small grants, loans and livestock to facilitate household income so that the children under their care can have basics like soap, salt, clothing and minor medical expenses. Because of poor incomes, some families loose kids from preventable diseases which can be treated with less than a $.
31 rural families have been able to reccieve from this program most especially those that are suffering from HIV/AIDS. Many families have been either infected or affected by the epidemic
